Get clear on what YOU want.

Why it’s crucial that you get crystal clear on what you want from, and for, your business. It's about diving deep into your aspirations and recognising that your vision doesn't have to mirror anyone else's. What is it that YOU want, not what is it that you see other people doing?

The temptation to look to others and imitate what they are doing is all too great. Replicating someone else's business offerings undermines our unique value proposition and prevents us from standing out in a crowded market. I’ll share what happened when I allowed myself be totally influenced by what others were doing and what it cost me and my business.

Why asking for and accepting help is in fact a true act of empowerment.

We all try to do everything ourselves in the early stages of our business but this can result in spreading our talents too thin, risking burnout and hindering our venture's true potential. Whereas asking for help at the early stages, leverages more diverse expertise, prevents costly mistakes, and accelerates our path to success.

How to protect your business.

The essential strategies you might be tempted to overlook which will safeguard, protect and future proof your business.

All of the social media platforms are truly excellent vehicles for promoting your message and being visible but the reality is you don’t own these; if they disappear your customer base does too!

In the digital age, where algorithms shift overnight and platforms can change the rules of engagement without notice, one of the wisest decisions you can make is to start your own email list. This is your direct line to your audience, after all,—unmediated by social media giants and unaffected by external disruptions.

I’ll reveal how this is my biggest regret of all and impart why you really need to pay attention to this one!

Simply simplify.

Why you should always resist the urge to overcomplicate everything. No more following the shiny objects – less really is more. I learned this the hard way. It's all about doing less but doing it better, ensuring each element of your business is performing optimally before expanding your scope.

Many new business owners fall into the trap of overcomplicating strategies, processes, or products, believing that complexity equates to value. I’ll reveal how, when I pared back my offerings, my income grew, and how I see this happening with my clients now all the time too.

How to mind your own business.

While not the most exciting lesson to impart it’s definitely the most valuable. Effective, sensible financial management not only ensures your focus is on keeping your business profitable but also provides critical insights for making informed strategic decisions. Engaging an accountant at the outset is crucial for setting a solid financial foundation and helping you to avoid costly mistakes that many new businesses make.

I’ll let you in on how I was caught off guard when I received my first unexpected revenue request (aka demand!) and it left me having to totally empty my bank account.
